Pregnancy Options
When a pregnancy occurs that wasn’t intended, you want to begin to plan your next best steps. Good choices for those next steps take time to consider and require reliable information. Making a decision about your body also means making a decision about your future, so you might want to take time to evaluate options before you decide.
Take a deep breath and slow down… you’ve come to the right place.
Abortion
For some, abortion has become a disputed political issue and not just a medical or moral decision. For that reason, any risks or realities can be difficult to assess. While we do not perform or refer for abortion, we are fully committed to providing you with the information you deserve and need.
If you are considering abortion, helping a friend decide if abortion is right for her, or just curious about abortion, you might have a lot of questions. Some of the most common questions we receive are: What are the physical risks of abortion? Do I have to have a surgical procedure, or can I take a pill? How soon do I have to decide?
Although SCV Pregnancy Center does not provide or refer for abortion, we do provide testing that you would need before considering a termination. We can provide information regarding abortion and help you with questions you might have about abortion.
Parenting
At this time, you might have more questions than answers about parenting or perhaps the thought of parenting seems impossible to you at this time. You might be thinking, if only you could put a hold on this pregnancy, and save it for later on down the line…
But sometimes life gets in the way of perfect. Raising a child is, without a doubt, a life-changing decision. Many moms and dads find great joy in parenting a child - even one they didn’t plan on. You may be looking at single parenting as an option as well. Regardless, the SCV Pregnancy Center has a list of resources based on your needs including but not limited to: health insurance, medical care, financial aid, housing, or meal needs.
Our Life Skills program is geared to support both single moms and families that could benefit from learning about pregnancy, nutrition, relationships, parenting, and much more. To inquire about classes that are available, you can call or submit your questions online.
Adoption
Adoption plans today allow the birth mom to choose who will parent her child. Adoption is a decision to make a parenting plan if you feel you are not the best person to parent this child right now. You may have heard many misconceptions surrounding adoption, when there are actually many positive outcomes that adopted children frequently experience.
The SCV Pregnancy Center can refer patients to local resources and services in order to ensure that they receive support throughout and after their pregnancy. The SCV Pregnancy Center is not an adoption agency.
